Having analyzed all of Butterfly’s table tennis tables on the market in 2024, I feel that the Aspire 25 is the best Butterfly ping pong table overall. While pricey, it is considerably cheaper than the other Professional line of tables they offer, and it is more than adequate for high-level play.
Yet there are many more great tables to consider, and before you blindly pick the Aspire 25, you really should consider the rest. For this article, I narrowed down all of Butterfly’s tables to my 8 favorites and discussed the merits and cons of each. If you’re set on buying from Butterfly, I’m almost certain one of the tables here is the right one for you!
As a brief overview, here are the best Butterfly table tennis tables in 2024 in my opinion:
- Butterfly Aspire 25 — Best Overall
- Butterfly National League 25 — A Close Second
- Butterfly Centrefold 25 — Premium Pick
- Butterfly Match 22 Rollaway — Good Choice for Clubs
- Butterfly Active 19 — For Casual Players
- Butterfly Garden 4000 — Best Outdoor Table
- Butterfly Compact Outdoor — Space-Saving
- Butterfly Junior — For Kids & Juniors
The 8 Best Butterfly Ping Pong Tables in 2024
1. Butterfly Aspire 25 Table Tennis Table — Best Overall
Specifications
- Indoor/outdoor: Indoor
- Type: Two-piece
- Size: Full-size
- Colors: Blue
Pros
- 25 mm thickness
- 3-year warranty
- 5 minutes to assemble
- 7-inch wheels
- Adjustable leg levelers
- USATT-approved
Cons
- Expensive
- The color design may not appeal to all
Topping my list of the best Butterfly tables is the Aspire 25. The reason I selected this table above the rest is because it is very well built and a touch cheaper than Butterfly’s other Professional line of tables. Of course, it’s still expensive in its own right, but you save several hundred dollars by selecting this model over the others.
The Aspire 25 sports a 25 mm thick play surface, as is used for professional play, and with 3 years of warranty, you are well-covered. The 7-inch wheels are also on the large side for an indoor table, so moving it from cupboard to play is a breeze. If I was in the market for a Butterfly match table, this is the one I would get.
2. Butterfly National League 25 Table Tennis Table
Specifications
- Indoor/outdoor: Indoor
- Type: Two-piece
- Size: Full-size
- Colors: Blue
Pros
- 25 mm thickness
- 3-year warranty
- 10 minutes to assemble
- 5-inch wheels
- Adjustable leg levelers
- USATT-approved
Cons
- Expensive
In at second is the National League 25 Butterfly ping pong table. In all honesty, there’s not much to separate it from the Aspire 25. It too has a 25 mm top and 3 years of warranty. And while it’s not ITTF-approved, it is USATT-approved, which speaks to its quality.
The only noteworthy differences are the discrepancies in cost, wheel size, and appearance. The Butterfly National 25 has 5-inch wheels, which while smaller, are perfectly fine for indoor use.
As for the appearance, it is much more standard. The side of the top is black and the undercarriage is white. This differs from the Aspire 25 which has a blue side and partially blue legs.
Finally, we come to the cost, the Aspire 25 is over a hundred bucks cheaper, which is why I give it the edge.
3. Butterfly Centrefold 25 Table Tennis Table — Premium Pick
Specifications
- Indoor/outdoor: Indoor
- Type: One-piece
- Size: Full-size
- Colors: Blue, green
Pros
- 25 mm thickness
- 5-year warranty
- Arrives fully assembled
- Ultra-compact
- 5-inch wheels
- Adjustable leg levelers
- ITTF-approved
Cons
- Very expensive
- No solo playback mode
If money is no object, the Butterfly Centrefold 25 table is certainly the way to go. It’s the most luxurious table that Butterfly sells, and players can’t get enough of it.
Unlike the Aspire 25 and National League 25, the Centerfold 25 is a one-piece table. It conveniently folds out using a red bar on the underside of the top. And unlike many one-piece tables which are overly bulky, the Centrefold 25 is ultra-compact. It measures just 19 inches in width when folded. This easily beats out the Aspire 25 which measures 48 inches.
The additional cost also helps to bump up the warranty to 5 years which is among the most coverage you can get for an indoor table. However, I doubt you’ll need it as the Centrefold 25 is built so well.
Finally, while the top is 25 mm like the other models discussed thus far, it features a Perfect Grip 25+ surface. This helps to prevent the ball from skidding, giving you perfect playability. Lower-level players won’t notice the upgrade, but top players should be able to feel the difference.
4. Butterfly Match 22 Rollaway Table Tennis Table — Good Choice for Clubs
Specifications
- Indoor/outdoor: Indoor
- Type: Two-piece
- Size: Full-size
- Colors: Blue
Pros
- 22 mm thickness
- 3-year warranty
- 4-inch wheels
- Adjustable leg levelers
- USATT-approved
Cons
- Expensive
- 30 minutes to assemble
If you’re purchasing on behalf of a club and want some cheaper yet quality Butterfly tables, I think the Match 22 Rollaway is a good option. At 22 mm, the table top is not as thick as tournament level, yet it’s sufficient for even advanced players to enjoy training.
Of course, the undercarriage is also not as strong as the premium models listed above, but it’s more than adequate to withstand regular use. You also get 3 years of warranty just like with the Aspire 25 and National League 25.
All in all, it’s an excellent option, and I wouldn’t let the 30 minutes of assembly time put you off. Sure, it’s more than most, but what’s 30 minutes of your time for a great table?
5. Butterfly Active 19 Deluxe Rollaway Table Tennis Table — For Casual Players
Specifications
- Indoor/outdoor: Indoor
- Type: Two-piece
- Size: Full-size
- Colors: Blue
Pros
- 19 mm thickness
- 3-year warranty
- Adjustable leg levelers
- 15 minutes to assemble
- USATT-approved
Cons
- Expensive
- Advanced players will want a thicker table top
- Small wheels
My last indoor Butterfly table recommendation is the Active 19 Deluxe Rollaway. I recommend this model for casual players. By stripping back some of the features, Butterfly has made this table far more affordable (although it’s still expensive compared to other brands).
The table top is 19 mm thick which is just above the threshold of what casual players should shoot for (18 mm). It also comes with 3 years of warranty which is welcome considering many other more expensive models also have the same coverage.
At 15 minutes of assembly time, it’s exactly what you would expect from a more basic table, and while the wheels are on the small side, it really doesn’t matter when you’re playing indoors.
6. Butterfly Garden 4000 Table Tennis Table — Best Outdoor Table
Specifications
- Indoor/outdoor: Outdoor
- Type: Two-piece
- Size: Full-size
- Colors: Blue, green
Pros
- 5 mm thickness
- 10-year warranty on top and 3 years on the frame
- Large 7” double wheels
- Adjustable leg levelers
- 15 minutes to assemble
Cons
- Expensive
- Advanced players will want a thicker table top
There were a lot of close competitors when it came to the best Butterfly outdoor table tennis table, but to me, the Butterfly Garden 4000 stands out as the top dog.
It features a 5 mm thick top made from synthetic laminate. There’s no denying this is thin compared to indoor models, but as far as outdoor models go, 5 mm is fairly typical. There are a few other models of identical thickness such as the Playback Outdoor Rollaway and Timo Boll Crossline Outdoor. However, these are more expensive and offer no noteworthy advantages.
In fact, the Butterfly Garden 4000 blows both models out of the water with its 7-inch double wheels. This makes traversing uneven ground a cinch. There are only a few other outdoor tables with bigger wheels.
To summarize, I feel the Garden 4000 brings the best of quality and value in the Butterfly outdoor table category. I should note that Butterfly sells a 7 mm version of the same table for enhanced playability. Yet I feel if you are serious enough about bounce quality, you should find a way to accommodate an indoor model as they are far superior.
7. Butterfly Compact Outdoor Table Tennis Table — Space-Saving
Specifications
- Indoor/outdoor: Outdoor
- Type: Two-piece
- Size: Full-size
- Colors: Blue, green
Pros
- Ultra-compact
- 3-year warranty
- No assembly required
Cons
- No solo playback mode
- Very small wheels
- No adjustable leg levelers
- Advanced players will want a thicker table top
The second Butterfly outdoor ping pong table you might want to consider is the Compact Outdoor. It’s the cheapest table Butterfly sells and it certainly has some alluring features. Besides the reduced cost is its space space-saving nature. It is the most compact table Butterfly sells as it folds down to just 5 inches in depth. This makes it a great option if you have to squeeze your table into a compact garage next to your car.
The drawback to this is that the wheels reside next to the table top, not the feet. They are also very small, so it is the most difficult table to maneuver. If you have very uneven ground you’re better off lifting it. Not only because it’s easier, but to avoid damaging the table. Another benefit is that it arrives fully pre-assembled so that you can play right away.
With its 4 mm thickness, it’s not quite as good as the Butterfly Garden 4000 when it comes to performance, but the difference isn’t all that much. Certainly a model to consider if you’re short of space.
8. Butterfly Junior Table Tennis Table — For Kids & Juniors
Specifications
- Indoor/outdoor: Indoor
- Type: Two-piece
- Size: Full-size
- Colors: Blue, green
Pros
- Ultra-compact
- 3-year warranty
- No assembly required
Cons
- No solo playback mode
- Very small wheels
- No adjustable leg levelers
- Thin 12 mm top
- Niche table for juniors
The final type of table you may want to pick up is the Butterfly Junior Stationary table. The design is a lot like the Compact Outdoor as it is very compact and the wheels sit underneath the top. However, it differs in two key areas. The first is its length and width. The Junior is what is known as a ¾ size table.
It is designed for kids and juniors, or those who are short of space indoors. While it hits these needs well, there’s no avoiding the fact that a smaller table drastically changes the dynamics of the game, as you can’t hit the ball as hard.
In addition, the top is just 12 mm thick to keep the cost low. As a minimum, I usually recommend a thickness of 18 mm, and this is well below that. As such, the Junior is simply a very casual table for family fun. If you’re a keen junior looking to get serious about the sport, I would recommend considering one of the other indoor models I have listed.

Butterfly Table Tennis Tables Buying Guide
Indoor vs. Outdoor
Before you pick a table you first need to decide which type you want: indoor or outdoor.
Indoor tables are superior in the ways that matter. They have a much better bounce quality and are cheaper. I also tend to think they look better too.
Outdoor tables, by comparison, have an inferior bounce quality and are more expensive. However, they often have larger wheels and longer warranty periods. So it’s not all bad.
If you’re serious about table tennis and have the space, an indoor model is the clear way to go. However, if your goal is more aligned with having fun and you don’t have the space indoors, an outdoor Butterfly table tennis table is a better choice for you.
Table Thickness
Table thickness is a direct indicator of bounce quality, so as you might suspect, the thicker you go, the pricier the table gets.
The cheapest models are 15 mm or less. These are for very casual play and not particularly fun to play on. Moving on to 16-19 mm tables. These are much improved. I recommend getting at least 18 mm if you can. As an advanced player, this is the thinnest table I’ll play on.
Finally, we come to the elite tables. You’ll usually find these in 22 mm, or 25 mm, although there are a few 30 mm models available now. All are a joy to use and 25 mm+ represents tournament-grade quality.
Expense
Butterfly is notorious for charging a lot for their products as they are one of the biggest names in table tennis. Fortunately, with their hefty prices come quality.
If you’re after value for money, Butterfly is not the brand to purchase from. JOOLA or STIGA are much better in this regard when it comes to tables. The JOOLA Tour 2500 is one of my favorites as it is crazy cheap and 25 mm thick.
Wheel Size
The wheel size of table tennis tables tends to vary from around 3 inches to 8 inches. The larger they are, the easier of a job you will have wheeling your table around.
Indoor tables place less of an emphasis on large wheels because indoor ground is usually even. As such, for most buyers, I wouldn’t really consider wheel size when buying an indoor table (provided you are using it indoors).
As for outdoor tables, the wheels are usually larger. This helps them tackle uneven ground and slopy areas. Large wheels are definitely a plus, but they are not as important as table thickness.
Warranty
Butterfly is one of the best brands when it comes to warranty. They offer at least 3 years on all of their tables which is far more than most other companies.
Their Professional line along with a few others have slightly longer warranty periods at 5 years. Several of their outdoor tables also have 10 years of warranty on their table tops which is right up there with the best.

Closing Thoughts
Butterfly table tennis tables are rather expensive, but they rarely disappoint.
To me, the best Butterfly ping pong table in 2024 is the Butterfly Aspire 25. It has many high-end features such as a 25 mm thick top, and 7” wheels, yet it is much cheaper than the likes of the Butterfly Centrefold 25.
If you’re instead looking for a top outdoor table, I recommend the Butterfly Garden 4000. Again, it offers solid features, and similar models cost a little more. The large 7” double wheels, in particular, will prove very useful if you are tackling tough terrain.
