While the best ping pong brand to most people is either Butterfly or DHS, there are many that you might prefer โ I for one love Nittaku and Andro.
Iโve been playing table tennis and testing equipment for well over 10 years, and in that time Iโve gotten my hands on a load of gear. This has helped me feel out the various table tennis brands, and I decided to compile a list of what I believe to be the top table tennis brands of the sport.
So without any further ado, here are the 21 best ping pong brands in 2024:
- Butterfly
- JOOLA
- STIGA
- DHS
- Nittaku
- Yasaka
- Tibhar
- Andro
- Donic
- Kettler
- Cornilleau
- Victas
- XIOM
- Killerspin
- Double Fish
- Gewo
- Palio
- Sponeta
- 729/Friendship
- Yinhe
- Gambler
The 21 Best Ping Pong Brands in 2024
1. Butterfly
Butterfly is the most recognized name in table tennis and a giant of the sport. Their products are crafted with the utmost skill, and they are generally considered as one of the best brands for table tennis rackets. As such, their equipment is both very expensive and highly used among talented players.
I recall reading a stat for the Olympics where Butterfly blade usage stood at over 50% of players. This goes to show that Butterfly is far more popular than other brands.
Not only does Butterfly sponsor many of the top players in the world such as Fan Zhendong and Lin-Yun Ju, but their equipment is also commonly selected for use at the most reputable international events such as the Olympics and World Championships.
While I rate most of their products, it is their blades that stand out in particular. They have a comprehensive line of exquisite blades which while pricey, are worth considering given how long they last. Iโm still using my Timo Boll ALC blade which is probably nearing a decade old!

2. JOOLA
JOOLA is a pioneer of table tennis, they were responsible for making the very first table tennis tables all the way back in 1952. Today, they remain as popular as ever on the table tennis table scene, boasting some of the best models for beginners through to pro players.
Their top-end models are of such high quality that JOOLA was featured as the official table sponsor for three back-to-back Olympics from 1996 to 2004.
While the JOOLA brand changed hands from Michael Bachtler to Sport Squad in 2019, their quality has remained consistent. More recently, JOOLA began creating pickleball equipment and became one of the top names rather quickly.

3. STIGA
I consider top ping pong brand STIGA to be much like JOOLA. While they produce a range of quality equipment, they are most well known for their exceptional tables and blades. They also predominantly target beginners and intermediate players, offering competitive pricing over the competition.
That being said, their elite table tennis tables are also very popular. STIGA was selected as the official sponsor for five World Table Tennis Championships.
STIGA has partnered up with many top players over the years, but the biggest name that comes to mind is the one and only Jan-Ove Waldner.

- STIGA Clipper blade
- STIGA Cybershape Carbon blade
4. DHS
DHS is the biggest and best TT racket brand in China. They are also one of the most prevalent to feature at major competitions. DHS had the honor of being the official equipment supplier for six consecutive Olympic games from 2000 to 2016. Furthermore, their table tennis balls are used in approximately 70% of all international events โ simply incredible! Thereโs no doubt they are one of the best table tennis ball brands.
They have a very close relationship with the top Chinese athletes, it seems they sponsor virtually all of them (except for the few Butterfly can snap up!). This close relationship helps them to facilitate the development of new equipment. They claim that over 90% of Chinese National Team players are using DHS products. Impressive!
Yet itโs not just equipment for the pros that they are famous for, DHS provides a range of equipment for beginners through to advanced players, and their pricing is usually very good. Their rubbers, in particular, are very popular. Hurricane 3 NEO is one of the top Chinese rubbers for the forehand.

5. Nittaku
If quality is what you are after, Nittaku is up there with Butterfly as one of the top high-end table tennis companies. They are one of the best ping pong brands for balls and blades.
Nittaku table tennis balls have been among the most popular for the entire time Iโve been playing โ this is before plastic was even a thing (we used celluloid balls instead). The only downside is that they are pricey and donโt offer the best value for money.
As for their blades, Nittaku innovated by producing blades using stringed-instrument technology. These two lines were aptly named the acoustic and violin series. The Acoustic, in particular, is very popular with players.
Iโm also a big fan of their Nittaku Fastarc rubbers. Iโve been using Fastarc G-1 as my rubber on both forehand and backhand for multiple years now. I feel it is the best-attacking rubber for aggressive loopers who donโt want to break the bank.

6. Yasaka
When it comes to top quality and affordability, Yasaka is a tough table tennis bat brand to beat. Many of their products are aimed towards skilled players, yet they are significantly cheaper than the likes of Butterfly.
Their most popular piece of equipment is easily their Mark V rubber. It was first released back in 1969 and many pros used it to win big international competitions such as the World Championships. Today Rakza has taken its place as their most popular rubber for skilled players.
Moving onto blades, this is where Yasaka shines. They produce a wide range of blades in the $45-$60 price bracket which is half the cost of many other brands.

7. Tibhar
Founded by Tibor Harangozo in 1969, the brand was created using the first three letters of his first and last name. You may have heard of the company through former pro player Vladimir Samsonov. Tibhar began sponsoring him at just 15 years of age. He would go on to become world number 1. They now sponsor Darko Jorgic and the Lebrun brothers.
Tibhar produces a little bit of everything and has had some good exposure on the international scene. They were the official equipment supplier for the World Championships in 2003 and 2007.
Their most popular piece of equipment right now is Evolution MX-P. itโs one of the fastest table tennis rubbers on the market. They also produce a very popular long pips rubber too, itโs called Grass D.TecS.

- Tibhar Grass D.TecS rubber
- Tibhar Samsonov Force Pro Black Edition blade
8. Andro
TT racket brand Andro was founded by former players Wilfried Micke and Ralf Wosik back in 1987. The brand produces rubbers, blades, tables, and a range of other gear. However, in 2018, they decided to minimize their blade offerings.
Andro has always been very involved in player development. They first began supporting the largest youth tournament in Europe back in 2008. They also run the Andro TT School in Borussia Dusseldorf. Here, young players can get the coaching they need from the top minds in the sport.
As for exposure at international events, Andro has featured at numerous tournaments. They were the official ball sponsor for the 2000 European Championships and the table supplier for the Europe Top 12 in 2004 and 2006.
When it comes to their most popular products it is their rubbers and clothes that come to mind. In the post-speed glue era, they released several popular rubber lines such as Hexer, Rasant, and Rasanter. Rasanter R47 is one of my favorite rubbers, and the only reason I switched from it is because itโs a bit pricey here in the UK.

9. Donic
๐ค: Vรถlklingen, Germany | ๐: Early 1980s | ๐: donic.com
Like Tibhar, the name Donic is derived from its founder Doctor Georg Nicklas. He would go on to sell the company in the late 80s to the Schreiner family when he moved to Sweden. This facilitated the onboarding of Jan-Ove Waldner as a brand ambassador as he was friends with Frank Schreiner.
Donic sells table tennis merchandise in just about every category, and their products are of very good quality. My brother and I often joke about Donicโs obsession with releasing rubber lines that sound almost the same.
It started with Bluefire, then they released Acuda Blue, Bluestorm, Bluegrip, and now Bluestar. Full marks for quality, but none for creativity! Why they donโt come up with some more memorable names Iโll never know!
One of their most popular products is the Waldner Senso Carbon V1. It was Waldnerโs personal blade and my brother used it for many years while competing at county level. I wasnโt a huge fan of it myself, but to each their own!

10. Kettler
๐ค: Redditch, United Kingdomโโโโโโโโโโโ | ๐: 1949 | ๐: kettler.co.uk
Kettler was founded in Ense, Germany, in 1949. They sold a range of sports and outdoor equipment. However, unfortunately, their German branch went bust in 2018 which ceased most of their operations. Fortunately, their UK branch is still going strong.
As far as table tennis products go, the brand exclusively sells tables (although some come with paddles). You might think that they are not the best quality given that table tennis is not the primary focus of Kettler, however, the craftsmanship is actually very respectable.
They produce indoor and outdoor models, but it is their outdoor tables that are the most alluring. They offer 10 years of warranty on their table tops and 3 years on their frame. This is coverage that no other company can beat, therefore I consider them to be one of the best ping pong table brands.
Most Popular Products
- Kettler Eden Outdoor table tennis table
- Kettler Outdoor 10 Bundle
- Kettler Indoor 10 table tennis table
11. Cornilleau
Cornilleau is a ping pong table manufacturer that is a lot like Kettler โ they sell many high-quality tables with 10 years of warranty. However, unlike Kettler, they donโt stop there. Cornilleau also sells rubbers, blades, and pre-made paddles too. They also dabble in pool tables, but weโre not here to talk about that!
If youโre in the market for an outdoor table, Cornilleau is the brand I recommend you go with. Their guarantee on parts availability of tables for 20 years plus the range of models on offer give them the edge over Kettler.
And oh. Did I forget to mention that they were the official sponsor for the World Cup team event in 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2011?
Most Popular Products
- Cornilleau 300X Outdoor ping pong table
- Cornilleau 500X Outdoor ping pong table
- Cornilleau Park Outdoor ping pong table
12. Victas
Victas is one of the oldest table tennis brands going, emerging all the way back in 1931. Given the company has been around for such a long time, it is surprising that they operated under the name Yamato Takkyu Inc. for so long โ doesnโt really roll off the tongue does it? They only switched to Victas in 2017.
Another important change occurred in 2021. The brand integrated another top table tennis company, TSP, into their label. This saw popular rubber lines such as Curl now sold under Victas which must have been rather confusing for players initially.
While Victas began by specializing in the production of celluloid balls, they are now predominantly known for their rubbers and blades. Their two top series are the V range and Curl range. The V line-up are spinny offensive rubbers. As for the Curl line-up, they are pips out and for defenders. The most popular is Curl P1V, formerly known as TSP Curl P1R. A soft long pips rubber that was formerly used by Joo Se Hyuk.

13. XIOM
Originally XIOM operated under the brand name Champion Limited Corporation โ they made the switch to XIOM in 2007. Despite the spelling, the pronunciation is axe-ee-om, which means new paradigm.
When they first began, XIOM focused solely on selling table tennis tables, they have since branched out to various other table tennis merchandise. Currently, Iโd say they are most famous for their table tennis rubbers. Among these are the popular Vega, Omega IV, Omega V, and Omega VII lines.
Since its re-brand in 2007, XIOM has become the #1 seller of rubbers and blades in Korea, but this popularity isnโt restricted to its home nation alone. Both their rubbers and blades have proved very popular internationally. Their rubbers in particular were second by sales for a time (excluding the Chinese brands).

14. Killerspin
Killerspin is one of the newer names on the table tennis scene, but boy did they enter with a bang! Their mission is to bring style and intensity to table tennis, and they certainly have that ticked.
In terms of design, Killerspin ping pong tables are undoubtedly one of the best. All of their models look very high-end, wellโฆ because they are! They produce luxury tables โ the kind you might expect to see in a business office that has too much money. That being said, while all of their tables look the part, only some are tournament thickness, so be aware.
Killerspin also produces recreational paddles. Their Jet line has proven the most popular with players. However, they have multiple others available including the Diamond, Kido, Impact, and Outdoor series
Most Popular Products
15. Double Fish
๐ค: Guangzhou, China | ๐: 1950s | ๐: doublefish.com
Like Double Happiness (DHS), Double Fish is based in China, and they too are giants of the game, although not quite as big. And itโs not just table tennis they specialize in, they also produce high-quality equipment for badminton, volleyball, basketball, and football.
Given such a broad range of products, itโs surprising they have done so well in the table tennis sphere. Their tables have featured in numerous competitions such as the ITTF World Tour, Panam Cup, and Asian Cup.
Whatโs more, their balls are also widely used in professional play. The V40+ Volant was the official ball for the Table Tennis Team World Cup in 2018, and their new ball, the ITTF Par40+ will be the ball of choice for the 2024 Olympic Games. It should come as no surprise that being selected for the Olympics is the highest of honors, so you can safely assume that Double Fish is one of the top ping pong ball brands up there with DHS and Nittaku.

16. Gewo
Gewo is one of the oldest table tennis brands, but they didnโt actually start by selling table tennis products at all. When Gewo was first founded in 1898, they were in the saddling industry. Table tennis merchandise didnโt come until much later in 1956, and it wasnโt until around 2000 that Gewo became one of the biggest table tennis brands in Germany.
Gewo sells all kinds of table tennis gear and caters for beginners through to the pros. Their most recognized sponsor is Quadri Aruna. He uses the Quadri Aruna Hinoki Carbon OFF blade and Nexxus EL Pro 53 Hard Super Select rubbers. Thatโs quite a mouthful!
In case youโre unaware, new table tennis rules allow for rubber colors other than red (black still mandatory), and Gewo is embracing this fully. You can pick up some of their rubbers in green and blue. Quadri uses green!

17. Palio
Palio is a good table tennis racket brand that offers exceptional value for money. One of their most popular rubbers, the AK 47 Red, costs just $13. This is a truly insane deal considering that this rubber is an exceptional choice for advanced attacking players.
Palio also partnered up with Expert Table Tennis to produce a series of affordable paddles for beginners and intermediate folks. These consist of the Expert 3.0, Master 3.0, and Legend 3.0. The Legend is the fastest and spinniest of the bunch.

18. Sponeta
German brand Sponeta was founded in 1955. It derives its name from โsportsrtikel,โ โnetze,โ and โtaue,โ these translate to โsporting goods,โ โnets,โ and โropes.โ
Almost all of their table tennis products are tables, and they are one of the largest manufacturers in Europe. In 2019, they received the โCommitment to Sustainabilityโ certification, giving them an edge over competing brands.
Sponetaโs equipment caters to players right across the board. I picked up a table for my club just the other day!

19. 729/Friendship
729sports.com
Although Friendship has largely faded into obscurity, the company has a rich history. They helped revolutionize the game back in 1972 with the release of the iconic Friendship 729 rubber. While itโs lacking for advanced players by todayโs standards, it represented elite quality back then.
Numerous players quickly adopted the rubber and went on to become champions. The brand would remain popular at the top level of the sport for several decades. However, as more competition emerged, Friendship decided to focus their efforts on producing cost-effective equipment.
Today their rubbers cost around $15 a sheet which is tough to beat. If youโre an intermediate player, they could be worth checking out.
Most Popular Products
20. Yinhe
I consider Yinhe somewhat similar to Friendship as they too are Chinese and sell very inexpensive rubbers and blades.
The trouble is that they can be difficult to get your hands on as they are not widely available. TTNPP is one of the best sellers I have found. They sell Mercury II for just $5 a sheet which is nuts! If youโre trying to build a quality paddle with a very limited budget, these are the rubbers to get.
Yinhe also sells table tennis balls. I use their Y40+ ball from time to time and while itโs not my favorite, itโs a solid option.
Most Popular Products
- Yinhe Mercury II rubber
- Yinhe Moon rubber
- Yinhe Neptune rubber
- Yinhe Big Dipper rubber

21. Gambler
Gambler was launched by Tom Kuenema, a product developer and marketing consultant who had experience working with the top table tennis brands. Gambler may be relatively unknown, but they are showing promise for the future.
They created a factory in 2017, and the very next year they entered into a deal with one of the top sponge manufacturers in Japan. This makes Gambler the first brand to use their sponge outside of Japan and Germany.
As it stands, their equipment isnโt in hot demand, however, it is exceedingly cheap. Their rubbers are around $15 a sheet and their carbon blades are $40.
Yet what might interest you more are their balls. The P40+ costs just $0.67 per ball making it one of the cheapest on the market. It is also ITTF-approved!
