But for those of you who can, let’s dive into the world of designer ping pong tables to see what you can get for your hard-earned cash.

The Designer Ping Pong Table Difference

Before we get into specific models I first want to touch on what you can expect from a designer table. Of course, their stellar appearance is a given, it’s probably the primary reason you want to buy one. But having a quality appearance doesn’t mean the table is highly functional.

What I mean by this, is that a lot of luxury ping pong tables may look great but they fail to perform quite as well as regular tables. The performance of a ping pong table derives primarily from its table top thickness, and some luxury ping pong tables are simply thinner than more mainstream models.

They sometimes also use luxury materials such as glass which is clearly not as effective at making the ball bounce. Therefore you should understand that luxury ping pong tables are statement pieces — a flex if you will. They are often not great choices for players who want to train seriously.

You may look at the table and think, concrete? That’s got to be a mistake. But no, this table’s surface is in fact made from concrete. It simply has an oak wood finish, and it’s damn convincing.

Given the steel base and concrete surface, you can even use the table outdoors, but I feel as though few will purchase it for that purpose. It’s best used indoors where it can serve as a conference or dining table. The metal net is easily removable and its appearance feels right at home in an office setting.

Killerspin SVR BlackWing Ping Pong Table

Killerspin are masters at making beautiful tables, and the SVR BlackWing is no exception. It’s influenced by the Fibonacci sequence (golden ratio) to maximize its beauty.

It has an all-black design with a steel arc frame. The top of the net is also flared outward. I have to say these two traits really add to its allure! Surprisingly, the legs even feature levelers, so you can keep your playing surface level on uneven surfaces.

Moving on to the Barcelona RS we see a steep price increase. It’s made from high-pressure laminate, steel, and iroko wood. These high-quality materials mean you can use it both outdoors and indoors, but once again I feel that such a stunning table is done an injustice if left outside.

Like the Berkshire, its net is fully removable. This means it functions very well as a conference table. As a bonus, you get 2 paddles and 6 balls when you purchase. However, you might want to pick up some orange balls as white balls on a white surface can be difficult to track.

All in all, a stunning table that will surely make everyone around you jealous.

JOOLA Brighton X-Leg Ping Pong Table

My second designer table tennis table from JOOLA is the Brighton. It features an 18 mm MDF table top and a black powder-coated steel undercarriage. The top has a beautiful gray woodgrain finish and is complete with a high-quality table tennis net which is both tension and height adjustable.

Like many of the other models, the Brighton doubles up as a conference/dining table. When the net is removed, most people won’t even be able to tell it’s a luxury table tennis table. The Brighton seats 10-12 and is the perfect statement piece.

Impatia Lungolinea Ping Pong Table

I love a quirky looking table tennis table, and the Sid model by Elevate Customs is just that. It features a beautiful white curved base and and a black table top made from maple wood. Even the net is beautiful — the sharp black strips and posts contrast the cross hatched white sections in a way that few others do.

Just note that with this particular table, at times the ball will bounce off at hard to predict angles. This is because of the curved edges. Hardly a big deal for a designer model if you ask me, though.

The Deceptor is a luxury outdoor ping pong table that looks completely different from the other tables on this list. It sports an all-black design with an abstract geometric base.

It even comes with 2 all-black geometric paddles as well. And get this, it comes with a custom ball which is said to be “unaffected by wind”. I believe this to be a major over-exaggeration. However, the ball does appear to have tiny holes in it, so it may well perform better than standard table tennis balls outdoors.

I love the look of “The Break” luxury ping pong table. It uses an eye-catching thin metal base made from hand-welded steel. You choose your desired finish. On offer is darkened steel, black, white, and custom. Furthermore, you also get to pick the finish of the table top. The 4 options consist of natural oak, oxidized oak, whitewashed oak, and extra whitewashed,

In all honesty, I think all of the colors look great, but I really dig the natural oak, it just compliments the black steel base so well. This table would feel right at home in an office setting.

As with the Moniomi table, expect to wait quite a while to get your hands on the “The Break”. Production times are estimated to be between 7 and 8 weeks.

Union Wood Co “Column” Ping Pong Table

Next up we have another table my Union Wood Co. The Column ping pong table is a top option for your luxury ping pong needs. It’s tough to find a table with a column base so this really stood out when I was browsing around.

As with the other Union Wood Co tables you have customization options on offer. For this model, you get to choose the finish of both the net and the table top. I’m particularly fond of the darker tops for this model such as blackened ash and walnut.

James de Wulf Fibonacci Ping Pong Table

If you’re after something a little more outdoorsy, may I present the James de Wulf ping pong table. Made almost entirely from concrete, this is a table that both screams elegance and durability. In fact, it featured on my list of the best concrete ping pong tables.

Given its concrete composition, the Fibonacci table is damn heavy. So much so that it needs specialist machinery for delivery. This means it’s pretty damn tough to get it installed indoors, however, it is certainly possible.

Included with this luxury ping pong table are 4 Stiga Flow outdoor paddles and 6 Stiga 3-star balls.

Killerspin Revolution Classic SVR (Silver1)
